Groovy Pink and Orange

Hey y'all,

Last week I shared a Paper Artsy Challenge about pink and orange.  You can check it out here.  I had never really used pink and orange together and once I started playing with it, I found I couldn't stop!  You can tell by this journal page.  It was inspired by some tags by Tracy that I saw on the Paper Artsy Blog.

Groovy, Baby!
Here's how I did it:  I gessoed my page and than using Dylusions sprays, I sprayed my page all over twisting and turning until I got the coverage that I wanted. I even sprayed water to move the ink.   When it dried, I scraped texture paste through my favorite flower stencil--Flower Frenzy by Crafters Workshop.  I like to let texture paste dry over night.

I found an image I liked of a hippie from Graphic Stock, but I needed her to be made of sturdier stuff.  I used my Cricut Aire to cut out a flower from brown paper stock. I stuck that on my journal with gel medium.  Using the hippie image, I cut out the head shape from card stock and colored it with my Copic markers. This woman is a nod to my mom back in the day.  I cut some sunglasses from a scrap of white cardstock, penned in her nose and eyebrows, and colored in a mouth.

With a pencil, I wrote my sentiment.  I colored it in with a white paint pen and then traced around it.

I definitely giggled when I was done.  I highly recommend you check out the challenge and join in the fun!

Peace out,
Carolyn
