Masked Sentiments

Hi y'all,
I love my Momma!  She a rock like a good mom should be.  She's real which taught me to value people for who they are and not what they can do for me.  And she's hilarious! (Sometimes accidentally.)  I'm so glad we live near each other and can spend time together.
In honor of Mother's Day which is coming up, I wanted to do something really floral and happy.  So of course I reached for my beloved Doodle Blossoms Stamp Set.

I grabbed some of my favorite card stock that my sweet Joe brings from the print shop, and cut a 41/4 x 5 1/2 card panel.  Stamping my LOVE stamp with Versamark, I pressed the stamp in the middle of the panel.  Then I tucked the "you" from the Doodle Blossoms Stamp Set underneath it.  I dusted the sticky sentiments with black embossing powder and melted the powder with my heat tool.

I wanted my sentiment to be read clearly, but I also wanted to surround it with flowers.  I covered my sentiment with blue painter's tape.  To make sure that the tape didn't stick to the paper and tear it, I pressed it on my arm first.  This worked out great.

Then I started stamping.  I used some masks that I'd made for a previous project that I keep with my stamps.  The masks are just stamped on Post-it Tape and cut out.

I colored all of the flowers with Copic markers very simply, because that is my coloring jam--simple.  I'm hoping to work up to fancy one day.

To complete the card I adhered it to a robin egg blue card base.

This style of card looks so lovely and it's very relaxing to make.  This is a simple technique that makes a complicated looking card.  I've make three all ready.  I'm definitely going to make more.

Blessings,

Carolyn
