Covered Notepads make great teacher gifts

Yi y'all,

I have a real passion for scraps.  I have little bits of wonder in an old cigar box and scrap paper in a big  pretty box.  I imagine you have some scraps, too.  This project is perfect for using all of your wonderful scraps.
quick and easy gifts

I used  8 x 5 notepads that were cut in half.  One of my great friends shared them with me.  Your local printer or office supply store can usually cut notepads inexpensively.

For the cover, I cut heavy card stock  5 3/4 by 8 1/4 and then scored 2 5/8  and 3 1/8.  I secured the half pad with strong This to That tape.

If you look at the photo above, you can see that none of the cover decorations are the same size.  Because I used scraps my paper and embellishments are different sizes. I'm not sharing sizes of embellishments because I hope you use your treasures that you've saved. Besides I don't enjoy mass producing projects.  I prefer to keep things difficult!  I did attach everything with tape runner or wet glue.
Decorate the inside to cover the pad label.

Aren't you just itching to pull out your scraps and craft while being ecofriendly?

Being a teacher you survive by lists and lists, I know.  Do you have a teacher in mind for this simple, but useful project?

Blessings,

Carolyn
